Eager But Nervous
Introducing Allysha, a pretty opera student. She is the first winner in our ‘Diva Dozen’ competition. Here she is, eager but nervous, being welcomed at our Subiaco photographic studio by Odelia before make-up.
A few words by Allysha…
‘When I was 14yrs old, I knocked my two front teeth out – my adult teeth.. After I’d just had my braces removed.. This was a fairly traumatic experience (I realise it’s nothing compared to what others may have been through – but at the time, I was very upset). I had to wear a removable plate with false teeth, for about a year.. I wasn’t very confident and I felt like I’d lost my smile.. I was so happy, and thankful to have been born in a time and place where I had access to the highest quality maxillo-facial surgery, and thankful to those surgeons who looked after me so well. I also felt grateful for the people who helped me keep my sense of humour through the whole experience. It isn’t the worst thing that could happen to a person, by a long shot.. But it still helped shape me into the person I am today. Today I’m more appreciative of the little things I would have previously taken for granted. I hope I can smile nicely for the camera on the day, and not be too awkward’.
